Darin Shipley is a Christian singer and award-winning songwriter who grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He began his college career studying music, but after seeing many “starving musician” friends, he opted to study Criminal Justice.  He received a bachelor’s degree, went into a career in law enforcement, and has been a police officer for over two decades.  Darin has continued to pursue the call God has on his life to use music as a powerful way to help connect people to God.  He continues studying every aspect of music, songwriting, and vocal technique.  Darin is currently studying contemporary guitar performance through Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, California.  Darin is married to a supportive, Godly wife and they have three children.

As an independent contemporary Christian Artist, Darin writes pop/rock style songs that mostly fit into the CCM genre.  He is a skillful guitarist influenced by artists like Josh Wilson and Steven Curtis Chapman. While listening to Darin’s original music you will likely notice his songs are packed full of scriptural references both hidden and obvious.  His album “Hunger Rising”, was birthed out of a deep passion and hunger to know God more.  His song "Irrevocable", won 2nd place in a national songwriting competition. Darin plays with a full band or with only his guitar.  He performs his original music, cover songs, and worship.  Although Darin is a seasoned worship leader, he would prefer to be known as a worshipper rather than a worship leader.  Darin’s ministry leaves audiences inspired to come to know God more intimately and to steward a life of wonder regarding God’s involvement in our daily lives.
